Beasley Forest Products manufactures over 500 timber mats a day from mixed hardwood species like oak, cherry, hickory, and some gum species (No popular or cypress is use in BFP's timber mats). Beasley Forest Products primarily manufactures 4 foot and 5 foot wide timber mats. However custom width timber mats are avaliable upon request. Beasley Forest Products uses 1” bolts stamped with the company logo to fasten its timber mats. The nuts and washers are countersunk into the timber mats. The ends of the timber mats are coated with a protective sealant to help prevent splitting and checking. Beasley Forest Products manufactures timber mats with minimal wane, but can also manufacturer timber mats that meet the wane requirements of the customer.

Uses for Timber Mats
Timber mats are used to lay pipelines, support excavators, build roads, and support other construction equipment. Pipeline contractors use thousands of timber mats every year to safely lay hundredes of miles of natural gas and oil pipelines. Typically a pipeline contractor will use the mats for two or three years and then they will have to dispose of the timber mats. Excavator opperators typically walk on eight to ten timber mats when they are working in environmentally sensitive areas or areas that are too soft to support the weight of an excavator. Typically a timber mat will not last as long when being used by excavators because the mats are moved more and the method of lifting is more stressful on the mats. Timber mats are not normally the first choice for building a road when mats are required however when the load requirements for the road are to heavy for laminated mats a timber mat is typically used. Other uses for timber mats include small bridges, small cranes, and a limitless number of odd end uses. |
